Talking Heads. Without question.

I’d have to go with the Patti Smith Group, or possibly Television. As for the bonus question, the original Lovin’ Spoonful. I saw Sebastian on his own back in the day (and at Woodstock), and Zal playing with Kris Kristofferson’s band, but never got to see the Spoonful.

Question 1: Black Flag.
Question 2: Style Council and Talk Talk.

10cc – perhaps not the hippest or grooviest of choices, but since you asked…

Do Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason still count as “Pink Floyd?” If so, I’d go to that show.
Had a chance to see Talking Heads at the Pantages as they were filming Stop Making Sense, but a bunch of us already had a ski weekend planned. I said “I’ll just catch them next tour.” I’d have real regret if that ski weekend hadn’t turned out to be one of the best of my life. It was worth the trade-off.

Almost all the bands I’d want to reunite have at least one key deceased member (but the Buffalo Springfield show was great, I must say). With that caveat, I guess Faces, even without Ronnie Lane. One of the most fun live bands ever.
Bonus round: without question, Otis Redding with Booker T & The MG’s.

Yanno, I’d have to really give this some thought, it seems like so many of them HAVE come around and/or are planning too. I’m bummed Buffalo Springfield cut things shorter than they planned, cuz of Neil Young.

The Buzzcocks…
Nick Drake with his friend from college that arranged strings on the first album, Five Leaves Left.

Question #1: The Buzzcocks or Television would be great choices. I also thought about Pussy Galore. But if it came down to seeing one group live for one night in the club of my choice, I’d probably have to go with the Mummies.
Question #2: The Small Faces (with the MC5 and the 1965-67 lineup of Love tied for a very close second).

Never saw the Kinks, so they’d get my vote. Also, I’d want both Ray and Dave to have ready access to sharp objects, for extracurricular entertainment purposes.
