Top 50 Favourite Songs: Sean Pressley

In considering my 50 favorite songs I figured I would first have to figure out what would qualify a song to be a favorite and worthy of being on the list, and in the end I decided to include songs that somehow effect me on an emotional level. 1. The revelation for me here (noting that I’ve only scratched the surface of Sean’s list) is “Table Dance” by Tela. Never heard of him, great, great sound. (Though it’s also driving me crazy trying to figure out if that chord progression is lifted from something, and if so, what.)

  2. This list makes me think of the autobiographical record collection bit in High Fidelity. I half believed Rotary Connection’s “I Am the Black Gold of the Sun” (1971) was made up until I listened to it. Great stuff. And “The Seed (2.0)” was a jam for me too.
